Garlic Roasted Green Beans Recipe

Garlic Roasted Green Beans Recipe

Up until a few years ago, I was intimidated by cooking fresh veggies. Growing up, most vegetables on my plate were fresh out of the can instead of fresh out of the garden. There wasn’t anything wrong with that, but I just never learned how to cook them unless they came from the canned goods aisle. Once I branched out, I discovered a whole new world of possibilities and flavors. Roasting vegetables in the oven has become my favorite way to cook them (and by far the easiest)! Green beans roasted in the oven is absolutely the best way to cook them, in my opinion of course!

Before summer officially says goodbye, I wanted to share my favorite summer side dish recipe. The Noggle: Making Baby Cool Again

What I once thought was a luxury (or unneeded) item, I now know to be a necessity. In my car, the vents are situated where no direct airflow hits Rowan. In the video, you will see that his car seat reached 143 degrees in just about an hour. Can you imagine how he must feel sitting in the hot seat with no air flow?

Operation Round Noggin: Our Plagiocephaly Helmet Journey

Operation Round Noggin: Our Plagiocephaly Helmet Journey

Honestly, the helmeting process has been tougher on this mama than on Rowan!  I’ll never forget the first time I cuddled him with the helmet on; it felt like my warm, squishy baby had turned into a cold, hard plastic robot. Out of all the things he’s been through, surprisingly this was one of the hardest on me. It’s because it’s a big, clunky outward reminder of all the things we’ve been through. It’s something that could possibly have been prevented, especially had he not been intubated for so long. The helmet was just one more “thing” to add to the list of my responsibilities and monthly appointments.

Not Just A Crib

Not Just A Crib

Whether or not a mother is in my situation, I think a baby registry is a list of hopes and dreams for all the things you’ll do with your baby when he comes home. You imagine baths with the plastic tub that fits in the kitchen sink, swaddling him with the blanket that is too expensive but worth it because it’s so soft, and laying him down for the night to sleep peacefully in the perfect crib.

The Answer to the Most Popular “Rowan Question”

The Answer to the Most Popular “Rowan Question”

On a recent trip to Las Vegas, Alex and I stumbled upon an Oxygen Bar. There sat an entire family of 5 on bar stools all hooked up to nasal cannulas laughing and taking selfies. I found it hilarious that people found oxygen support to be a tourist attraction! Rowan did not go on vacation with us, mainly due to the fact that he’s still on oxygen. It would be possible for us to take him, but I don’t think it would be fun for any of us, including Rowan. “How much longer will he be on oxygen?”
